Do we just go to showings and put homes up for sale? Nope!

For some reason, in the last month or two, I’ve had a number of people surprised at what we do everyday – what happens behind the scenes of being a real estate agent.  Most of what you see online are pictures about the new listing or the sale of a home, but what you don’t see are all the details happening in the background.

My day consists of what you commonly think of – going to showings or talking to clients about listing their homes, giving market analyses & home values to help people.  It also consists of a bunch of phone calls – with Lenders, Title Companies, Fellow Realtors, Clients, Inspectors, and Vendors.  During a transaction, there are a bunch of conversations that happen to ensure that we don’t miss a deadline, to ensure that we have communicated well, and that all parties are fully prepared for closing day.

We also do a bunch for marketing – making fun videos, writing cards & letters, designing apparel, and a huge variety of online stuff like blogging, the website, and all of the social media stuff you see. 

We do the accounting and manage a budget for our business.  We have memberships & dues to pay for various services.  We have training and ongoing education.  We go to networking events.  We research the market – housing trends, prices, equity, inventory and more.  We search for properties constantly, there’s always an opportunity out there.
