Fall in love with your home again! Do some cleaning!

It’s February – the month that’s all about love.  So why not fall in love with your home again.  There are some very simple ways to do this through cleaning your home.

First – declutter.  Go through your home and find things that you no longer use or that can be repurposed for something else or donated to someone else.  My rule of thumb is that if you haven’t touched it in 6-12 months, then it can probably go.

Schedule some time to go through your closets.  See if you can take everything out, deep clean the closet, donate some items, and then put the closet together in an organized manner.  It’s amazing what a fresh, organized closet can do for you.

Take some time to deep clean those areas that you often don’t get to.  These can include fan blades that collect dust, vent covers, wipe down baseboard & trim, the insides of your kitchen cabinets.  That clean, fresh feeling makes a huge difference.

A full deep clean can seem like a daunting activity, but write out a schedule – maybe choose 1 major room every few days.  By the end of the project, you’ll have fallen back in love with your newly cleaned and organized home.
