What are the projections for 2025 mortgage interest rates?

Mortgage rates have been a hot topic ever since they started increasing a couple years ago.  We enjoyed historic low rates which crept up into the 7-8% range in the last 2 years.  The big question is:  what can we expect as we enter 2025?

Well, we just finished a presidential election and with any change in presidency comes change in economics.  There are a lot of predictions out there with the latest being that rates will drop slightly but not significantly.

This year, rates have bounced around the 6.5-7% range depending on your loan product and term.  A slight decrease is expected as we enter 2025 – possibly creeping down to 5.9%. 

Your interest rate can have a big impact on your monthly mortgage payment.  It’s important to shop around and inquire about closing costs, rates, and any other options your Lender might offer when you are looking to sell or buy a home.
